Paul Wilmot

Repetiteur

Paul Wilmot attended school in Carmel, California and Brighton College, England, where he was the William Stewart Music Scholar, Organ Scholar and Academic Scholar. In 2003 he went on to win a first class BA in Oriental Languages at University College, Oxford, specializing in Sanskrit and Tibetan, and was also the Organ Scholar of the College, a post which led him to play on many great organs including St Paul’s Cathedral in London, Chichester Cathedral and York Minster.

He studied the organ with the late world-renowned recitalist David Sanger. He was granted funding by the Arts and Humanities Research Board to continue original research for his Masters in Oriental Studies, which he obtained in 2004. Paul Wilmot recently worked for the Clay Sanskrit Library and published a partial translation of the Mahabharata for the New York University Press. He was also repetiteur for Opera Mauritius ’09.
