A radio and television presenter and producer of local programmes, the Mauritian Gérard Sullivan is also a producer and director of live performances and musical comedies.
He began his stage career in 1973 with the production of an extract from Godspell. In the field of Son et Lumière he worked with Guy Lagesse on the production of Un Homme Parmi les Autres, a version of the passion of Christ. He has also produced several musical comedies including Zozef ek so palto larkansiel, a Creole version of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Joseph and his Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and Starmania by Michel Berger and Luc Plamandon, as well as a Creole version of Les Misérables by Claude-Michel Schönberg. He also puts on an annual concert Christmas under the Stars with Mauritian artists.
Last year, for the Opera Mauritius Festival 2009, Gérard Sullivan put his name to his first operatic production with The Pearl Fishers.
